    The 2017 USTA Tennis on Campus Southern Championship will be played Feb. 24-26 at the Yarbrough Tennis Center in Auburn, AL and other sites. Click here for our list of tennis sites.

    Court surfaces

    Matches will be played on hard and clay courts.
     

    Entry Fee
    $200 per team - make checks payable to USTA Southern. 
    $175 per team if entry is received by January 25.

    Entry Deadline
    Friday, February 10 – The first 16 teams that enter each draw by the deadline will be guaranteed a spot in that draw (see info below regarding the 2 draws). 

    “B” and “C” teams are encouraged to enter.  Please send your team’s completed entry form (page 2) and check made payable to USTA Southern to: Jeff Smith, 204 Ridgefield Drive, Bossier City, LA 71111 in time for it to be received no later than February 10th.

    Amenities
    All players will receive a T-Shirt and lunch on two days. Awards will be given to the top two teams in each draw.
     
    Tournament format
    World Team Tennis collegiate format will be used. The format covers set scoring, match scoring, substitutions, service order, tiebreakers and a number of other areas that differ from standard match play. Click here to download the scoreboard with the WTT rules. Click here for www.wtt.com.
     
    Team members
    We suggest teams have at least 3 men and 3 women (maximum 10 players) available to play all weekend, but teams may play with only 2 players of 1 gender.
     
    Individual eligibility
    Players must be enrolled for a minimum of ½ full-time for undergraduate students and 6 credit hours for graduate students. Players may not be a current varsity team member. There is a limit of one former varsity player per team. Click here for more info.
     
    Rules
    USTA rules will be followed throughout the tournament where applicable. Any variations will be discussed at the Captain’s Meeting.
     
    We will have 2 separate draws at this event.  “A” teams from schools whose varsity teams compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and Southeastern Conference (SEC) must enter the “Alley” draw.  This draw will have 5 automatic bids to the 2017 USTA Tennis on Campus National Championship on the line.  The “Rally” draw is open to all other teams and will have 1 bid to the 2017 USTA Tennis on Campus National Championship on the line.  “A” teams from schools that are not in the ACC or SEC and all “B” and “C” teams may choose which draw to enter.
